Community rules

Last updated 13 October 2026

Letternerd is played by mixed groups of friends, families and couples. These rules apply to everything you write, say, upload or publish, in a room, a circle or a game you make.

The rules

No harassment

Don’t target, threaten, pile on or keep after someone who has asked you to stop. Teasing inside a game is the game; following someone out of it is not.

Nothing hateful

No slurs or attacks on people for who they are: race, religion, nationality, gender, sexuality, disability or age. That goes for answers, names, pictures and games you make.

No sexual content outside the 18+ games

No sexually explicit writing, pictures, audio or video anywhere except inside games rated 18+, and nothing sexual involving anyone under 18, ever. Letternerd is played by mixed groups who did not ask to see it. In an 18+ game, everyone in the room is an adult who agreed to be there, and anyone can pass on anything.

No spam

Don’t publish games to advertise something, flood a room or a circle with the same thing, or send people to scams. A published game should be a game.

Play it straight

No second accounts to vote for yourself, no stalling a room so nobody can finish, and no arranging results in a game with Gold on it. Ruining the game on purpose counts as cheating.

Keep private things private

Don’t post anyone’s address, phone number, private messages or pictures of them without their say-so, even as a joke answer.

Checks, reports and blocking

Pictures, audio and video are checked

What you submit in a room is checked before the room sees it. Something that fails the check is withheld from everyone, and the round carries on without it.

A person reads every report

You can report a game, a player, a room, or something that is simply broken. A report names what you reported and why, and the room it happened in when we know it. We read it; we can’t always reply.

You can see what became of yours

Settings lists the reports you sent and where each one stands: sent, being looked at, acted on, or closed. The person you reported is never told who reported them.

Blocking is yours to use

Blocking someone stops them adding you, inviting you or seeing when you’re around, and ends a friendship between you. They aren’t told. You don’t need to report someone to block them.

What we do about it

Depending on what happened: remove the content, unpublish a game, or close the account. Serious harm, and anything involving a minor, goes straight to closing the account.
