How to play would you rather
- One person reads a question with two options.
- Everyone picks a side at the same time, so nobody copies the first answer.
- Each person gets one sentence to defend their choice. The best argument can win the round, even from the losing side.
- Pass the next question to the person on the left.

How to write your own would you rather questions
- Make both sides equally good or equally bad. If everyone picks the same answer, the question is too easy.
- Be specific. “Lose your phone for a week” beats “lose something important”.
- Write for the room: in-jokes, shared places and your own friends’ habits always land.
Have a list of your own? Make it into a game and share the link with your group.

Frequently asked questions
What are good would you rather questions?
Good ones make both choices close: two treats, two small disasters or two ways of living. Questions about real life, like work, school, friends and food, start more conversation than impossible fantasy ones.
Can you play would you rather online for free?
Yes. Letternerd’s Would you rather game is free in the browser on any phone or computer. Share a room code or link, and friends join as guests with no account or download.
How do you play would you rather over text?
Send one question to the chat and ask everyone to reply with A or B before reading anyone else’s answer, then one line on why. Or host a Letternerd room that runs over several days, so people answer whenever they are free.
Are would you rather questions good for work icebreakers?
Yes, if you keep them light. Questions about meetings, lunch and working from home get people talking without asking anything personal. Start with one question and give everyone a turn to explain.
